I have envisioned what Paris would be like for years. When planning a trip make sure you do some research (pinterest, IG etc.)Research is key in creating an itinerary of what you want to do. Next, before leaving, convert your money. Doing so will help save money. Paris has many conversion locations, however, the conversion rate is higher and will cost you more. Also, see if your bank has a partnered branch in Paris ( Bank of America is partnered with BNP Paribas). For transportation from the airport I used UBER because it was cheaper ($80 5 people + luggage). We stayed at Hotel Pullman – Bercy. It was next to the Metro (3min walk) which we used to travel everywhere. I recommend getting a 1-3 day pass. The transit system was easy and has stops for all major tourist areas. The Big Bus Tour was the best idea for us. The tour provides two routes and it takes you through different parts of the city. You’re able to hop on and off as much as you’d like and have a live tour guide. The stops include the Eiffel Tower, Pyramide du Louvre, Notre Dame, and many more. Depending on how long you are staying you may not get to see everything in each location. The Louvre is massive, so write out which pieces of art is a must see. Notre Dame is a beauty. Take time to walk across Pont des Arts pedestrian bridge. Lastly, the ride up the Eiffel Tower is a must. The sites that await you are worth it. I also recommend the big bus night tour and the river cruise along the Seine to see Paris at night. It’s gorgeous. While in Paris also be aware of your environment. The hustlers are out! Being polite but forceful when saying no. While commuting you have to be alert. In addition, Parisians can be a bit rude when you don’t at least attempt to speak French. Try to learn some basic conversation words. Also, call your phone company if you intend to use it for international plans. Lastly, food is hit or miss. Try out all the traditional items (macarons, croissants, etc) and go from there. Overall I had an amazing experience.
